Káli Kövek
Three years ago, Gyula Szabó moved from the big city to the banks of Lake Balaton. That's when he took over the old family cellar on Köveskál's Fekete hegy (Black Hill). His grandparents, Dániel Szabó and Rózsa Győrffy, originally bought this plot, which lies among the south-facing vineyards of Balaton felvidék's biggest basalt hill, in 1945.
"The Káli basin captured me and a couple of years back some friends and I decided to establish a winery, some kind of garage winery, which we finally gave the name Káli Kövek (Káli Stones) to," explained Gyula.
