The coat of arms on the bottles reveals that King Charles III has renewed the prestigious Royal Warrant originally granted in 1877 by Queen Victoria, marking this as the most quintessentially British champagne. The iconic house's iconic cuvée is the Brut Réserve, considered by many to be one of the best buys in the entire wine region. Alongside its stable style and predictability, an extra ripeness and unexpected richness always shines through. A complex blend from 30 different crus, comprising an equal one-third share of three varieties – Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay – to which 25% reserve wine from previous vintages was added. It undergoes a longer than usual, four-year ageing process in the house's 33-metre-deep cellar system, where every bottle is still prepared by hand on riddling racks for disgorgement. On the nose, pear and mango are followed by honeysuckle, white jasmine and a hint of vanilla and brioche. On the palate, it reveals flavours of quince and apricot jam alongside beeswax and acacia honey. The finish is enriched by mandarin orange and candied orange peel, as well as spices (cardamom, anise).
