Rilly la Montagne is one of the premier cru villages of Reims Hill with the typical lean, limestone soil. That’s where one of the Béreche family’s most distinctive selections comes from, from only 0.4 hectares, made purely from Pinot Noir. The 36-year-old vines have been cultivated organically-biodynamically since the beginning, and with the low yield, the complete amount produced is just 2,600 bottles. Oxidative methods, spontaneous fermentation in used barrels, secondary fermentation in bottles under cork, disgorging after 36 months with a little dosage. Deep gold colour, delicate bubbles, broad body, tobacco, dried flower, camomile. A big wine.
2016 vintage, 2020 January disgorging, 3g/l dosage.
