The name 773 refers to an imprint from 1773 that marked the vineyard used as the foundation for these sparkling wines. The exceptional characteristics of the terroir ensure the uniqueness of these wines. Following the outstanding 2017 vintage, nature gifted the Kárásztelek winery in Transylvania with another wonderful harvest in 2018. Favourable weather conditions, the quality and quantity of the yield, the terroir and the perfectly timed harvesting all contributed to bringing excellent raw material to the winery for their sparkling wine production.
The blend consists of 80% Chardonnay (10% of which was aged in barrels) and 20% Pinot Noir. The wine is simultaneously refined, creamy, complex and vibrant. It features fine, melting bubbles and an elegant character with floral, citrus, apple, peach, roasted seeds and brioche on the palate, complemented by subtle yeast notes.
This wine underwent an additional 2 years of ageing compared to the standard 0.75-litre bottle, for a total of 5 years on lees before release.
