A small-batch, genuine rarity from the vast Cava empire that has expanded far beyond its original size. The name Mas Goma refers to the old stone house among the Vendrell family's vineyards. The estate dates back to 1724, and since 1918, the Vendrell family has managed it, cultivating their 20 hectares of vineyards with organic-biodynamic methods. They sell most of their harvested grapes but use the best plots with old vines to craft their own traditional method sparkling wines. Our favourite from them is the distinctive La Planta.
This wine is made from organically grown vineyards with 50-70-year-old vines, and is a blend of Macabeo (60%) and Xarello (40%). After secondary fermentation and 24 months of bottle ageing, it is released without added dosage or disgorging. Bone-dry, refreshing, slightly cloudy and undisgorged, with light alcohol and minimal sulphur content.
