We were looking for a classic, but by no means clichéd vermouth – one that would make sense in anyone’s glass. We focused on intense flavours and avoided the cloyingly sweet, boozy character. It quickly became clear that Bèrto would be our next big favourite. Delicious Piedmontese wines, botanicals, aromatic herbs and exotic spices come together in this deep, long-macerated amber-coloured Vermouth Bianco.
Made with fine Piedmontese wines, aromatic herbs and exotic spices. The base wine blends local and international grape varieties, including Cortese, Arneis, Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Bombino, Verdeca and Barbera d'Asti. Despite its rich and spicy character, it has a strikingly clean, vinous profile. On the nose, citrus and vanilla appear, while the palate is dense yet smooth, with long, lingering flavours. The sweetness is balanced throughout by a gentle bitterness.
Main botanicals: wormwood, gentian, blood orange, rhubarb and mint.
Enjoy it neat, or with soda and a slice of orange, though it also shines in Americano and Negroni cocktails.
