The beginning of its history goes back to the end of the 18th century. A young English merchant, Thomas Osborne Mann, arrived in the region of Cádíz and wanted to deal with local wine, therefore, he purchased various wineries of Santa María, which he would later unite under a single brand name: Osborne. The iconic Osborne bull on the labels was created by the Azor advertising agency, and the bulls were deliberately placed on billboards next to Spanish roads, where the bulls could be in harmony with the landscape. The name ‘Cream Sherry’ is another name for the mixed sherry, which refers to a sweet style, made from blending Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez. The traditional solera ageing takes place in 500-litre American oak barrels, from which, in addition to the honey-like structure, it gets notes of orange and dried fruits, such as raisins, figs, dates and walnuts.
