Santa Cristina and Guado al Tasso Vermentino 2024
For those who are already familiar with the classic Sauvignon Blancs, who love Albariño, and who have tried Verdejo, Vermentino could well be the next discovery, and we have brought in two for summer.

This brilliant, sun-worshipping Mediterranean grape produces remarkably fresh wines in the hot coastal vineyards of Provence, Sardinia, Corsica and Umbria.
On the nose, citrus and floral notes dominate, with subtle almond and mineral undertones emerging depending on terroir and ageing. Its true versatility lies in that delicately creamy texture — a quality that effortlessly incorporates oak influence, oxygen development and fine lees ageing. The perfect companion for olive oil-dressed dishes, fresh herbs, lemon and delicate fish.
The Santa Cristina estate has always made the pristinely pure, lightly-tuned base core wines of the Antinori selection, and this is no exception. The Vermentino grapes were harvested from Umbria's fertile vineyards, and the wine, cool fermented under reductive conditions, practically explodes in the mouth.
We didn't stop at just one wine. The Antinori family's Guado al Tasso estate has been working with Vermentino in the legendary Bolgheri region since the 1990s. While the winemaking approach is nearly identical (fermented in ice-cold steel tanks here as well), the terroir — and consequently both wines — are entirely different. The Guado al Tasso reveals remarkable complexity, astonishing elegance and perfectly matured flavours with a creamy texture, and notes of orange blossom, peaches and flowers.

The varietal's vibrant citrus and white-fleshed fruit notes come to the forefront, giving the wine a lively, vibrant character. Straw-yellow colour, with a pale green tint. On the nose, intense aromas of pineapple, melon and grapefruit mingle with rose petals and fresh herbs. A true embodiment of the Tuscan landscape and Mediterranean joie de vivre.
Guado al Tasso Vermentino 2024
The Antinori family's Guado al Tasso estate first crafted Vermentino in 1996, with a mission to rediscover and showcase this local variety. Bolgheri's microclimate – with its coastal proximity, constant breezes and exceptional exposure – proves ideal for the grape. Fermented cold under reductive conditions, the wine bursts with intense, fresh citrus aromas. Elegant and perfectly matured, it reveals creamy flavours, with orange blossom, peach and floral notes.
