Gere Kopar 2021 Pre-order
"Kopar has undergone countless tests over the decades, for example, we have tried many oak barrels from different forests, vineyards and countries, with varying degrees of toasting. Although I don't like the word, by today we have developed a 'recipe', which in fact mostly signifies a style. Of course, it’s not rigid, as we always adapt to the characteristics of the particular vintage.
Kopar is our most important wine, and we celebrate every important milestone in its life." – Andrea Gere.

Györgykovács 2022
A wine merchant is defined primarily by its selection, and within that, by the winemakers it has represented from the beginning. In Bortársaság's selection, Györgykovács is undoubtedly one such name. We are the same age as Imre's winery, and we have followed it from his first wines. Just as he avoids unexpected turns, we follow the tried-and-trusted schedule: it's October, so we are introducing a new Györgykovács vintage.

The Oremus winery, which cultivates 100 hectares, is the Hungarian winemaking branch of the well-known and renowned Spanish brand Tempos Vega Sicilia, which has played a pioneering role in shaping the new face of the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region.
In addition to the world-famous Aszú and Szamorodni wines, they now also produce complex dry wines that highlight the volcanic terroir. One of the finest examples of this is the 2022 vintage of Oremus Mandolás.
It is made exclusively from Furmint, the best-known grape variety of the region. The botrytis-free bunches from the Mandulás, Budaházi, Kútpadka and Gyapáros vineyards, rich in rhyolite, were harvested early in the autumn. After multiple selections, the grapes were pressed whole and intact, then it was fermented in steel tanks and barrels, and aged for 6 months in barrels. To ensure it already shows a round profile in its youth, partial malolactic fermentation and weekly battonage were applied.
Alongside the fresh aromas and vibrant fruitiness, subtle buttery and creamy notes also appear. It is a full-bodied white wine with great ageing potential, clearly displaying the mineral character of its terroir.
