Pienaar & Son is a small artisan distillery near Cape Town, located next to the waterfront. Keeping to tradition, all their equipment is hand-built, although they make their spirits in a modern style. The spices used for distillation are sourced from a special area in South Africa (Fynbos), where a stretch of 100 to 200 kilometres is home to some 9,000 plant species. Plants selected from this local botanical garden create a gin with fresh aromas that’s rich in spices and citrus, and a palate of vanilla, tangerine, ginger and allspice.
