This rum is the first El Salvador brand, which was founded by a family that regarded rum as lacking in this small country. One of the founders of the brand comes from Majayin, hence, the name of the brand: Maja. In order to enter the challenging world of rum, they chose a famous rum master to develop their rum – none other than Francisco ‘Don Pancho’. This 12-year-old rum was matured in former bourbon casks. Such sweet and tropical fruit notes mix on the nose like pineapple, mango, banana, a touch of vanilla and some oaky notes. The palate is soft and fruity, with roasted hazelnuts.
