Its centre, Segonzac, is the heart of Grande Champagne and also the best terroir of the region. The name Elie Ferrand has been linked with the history of the Cognac region for 10 generations, among whom the most prominent name was Elie VIII, owing to his creativity and passion for cognac. The current leader of the house is Alexandre Gabriel, who studied and grew up in Burgundy, and whose plantations are organically cultivated, with grazing sheep between the rows. Selection Des Anges is distilled in small copper pots, together with the fine lees, then it is aged in oak barrels for 30 years in cellars with different levels of humidity. Aromas of jasmine tea, flowers, tobacco, walnut, raisin and vanilla, while on the palate pleasant spices are coupled with dried fruits, almonds, mango and honey.
