The Norwegian founder, Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, arrived in the town of Cognac nearly 120 years ago, where he soon fell in love with one of the world's most famous drinks. Living for his passion, he quickly mastered its production and founded the distillery that still operates today, which has been in family hands ever since and is run by his great-grandson. They consider terroir specifics important so that they can make round, balanced, but at the same time lively and fruity cognacs. The XO is made from 10-30-year-old batches, the grapes come mainly from the Fins Bois and Petit Champagne areas, with the latter having the highest environmental classification (HVE3). Jasmine and iris are mixed with banana, prunes, toasted hazelnuts and almonds on the nose, while the soft and round structure is associated with the oak barrels on the palate.
