Nikka released a 12-year-old malt called Coffey Malt a couple of years ago. It received critical acclaim and soon became very famous. This NAS (No Age Statement) release was also distilled in the Aenas Coffey column still (using the continuous process). Owing to the distillation method, which is unusual among malt whiskies, an extremely mild and silky malt was created.
