In 1888, Eigashima Shuzo founded the White Oak Distillery in Akashi, which in 1919 was the first in Japan to obtain a license to produce distilled spirits. This version is a blended style containing malt whiskey and grain whiskey in equal proportions and is aged in three different types of casks: former bourbon, former sherry and new oak barrels. Malt is imported from the United Kingdom, while water is obtained from groundwater. It has citrus fruit, apricots and flower honey on the nose, then vanilla, exotic fruits (pineapple, mango), oak and sweet spices on the palate.
