This premium rum matures for 10 years to develop its characteristic profile. It’s named after the ship Ancon, the first to pass through the Panama Canal in 1914. The rum is aged entirely in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon whiskey. Notes of sweetness and smokiness dominate, along with raisins, apricots, walnuts and roasted almonds, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. A fine choice for those who enjoy a moderately sweet, well-rounded, woody and fruity rum that 10 years of ageing has made velvety smooth.
