The Chopin brand is a 100% family enterprise, which is proud of its small-batch products and also that family members work in all the fields of the business. The Dorda family purchased the distillery in 2003, restoring the pomp of the former traditional operation, and also modernized the bottling and packaging lines. The larger part of the raw materials is obtained from within a 30-km vicinity of the distillery, from where the freshest potatoes, rye and wheat are always used from the neighbouring fields. As a category, super-premium vodka spread thanks to Chopin, and its current master distiller is Waldemar Durakiewicz. The Family Reserve batch is gluten-free, made from fresh potatoes, which at this age has more sweetish and earthy notes. After this, they keep the distillate in 50-year-old Polish oak barrels for two years. The outcome is a spicy, yet mild vodka, in which the sweet and earthy notes are accompanied by liquorice and cloves.
