This Highland distillery is characterised by a terroir-focused, nature-friendly approach and noted for its precision. What they have is Scotland’s tallest, 5-metre high distillation column and their own spring of water with special, hard and very clean water. This Glenmorangie spent the first 15 years of its life in traditional American oak barrels, and then it was put into Oloroso Sherry casks for another three years to achieve complexity and rich flavours and aromas. Owing to the long ageing, the whisky became elegant with barrel notes, excellent balance and many layers. Sweet spices, dark chocolate, coffee and tobacco. It has an appealing and friendly character.
