Made in Mendoza, co-produced using Bordeaux varieties under the direction of Michel Rolland: that is Clos de los Siete. Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah spiced with a little Petit Verdot, aged for 11 months in new and used French barrels. It has a deep purple colour with Malbec’s purple tints. It’s a rich, dense wine with smooth tannins and lovely acidity. Lots of black fruits, pepper and a touch of tobacco.
Four Argentinian wineries making one premium wine. Star winemaker Michel Rolland has given his name to lots of top wines, but his most successful project is Clos de los Siete. The southern part of Mendoza, northeast-facing vineyards, Malbec-based blends, out of which one prestigious wine of four wineries is made.
