Kaiken’s wildest wine, showing the raw, instinctive side of Malbec. The grapes come from high-altitude parcels in Los Chacayes and Vista Flores, at 1,100-1,250 metres above sea level. After destemming, the bunches undergo a 3-day cold soak, followed by 7 days of fermentation in concrete tanks. Ageing lasts 10 months: 20% in French oak and 80% in concrete, preserving the wine’s fresh fruit tautness and its spicy, vibrant character. Aromas of dark berries, black cherry, subtle thyme and dried flowers. The palate is lively and energetic, with fresh acidity and finely grained tannins. A wild yet disciplined wine.

Chilean success in Argentina. The pioneer of Chilean quality winemaking, Viña Montes, started its Kaiken winery in neighbouring Argentina based on Malbec. Today, they work on three estates within the Mendoza wine region, their vineyards lie in the best regions, their wines focus on terroir.
