Kaiken’s classic and reliable pillar. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Vistalba and Agrelo, from the cooler, gravelly soils of the Mendoza Valley. During ageing, half of the wine spends 12 months in French oak (equally divided between new, second and third-fill barrels), while the rest remains in concrete. Blackcurrant, graphite, spice and subtle toasted notes on the nose. The palate is full yet balanced – the tannins are ripe, and the structure is cool and taut. A classic, elegant Cabernet that’s concentrated and age-worthy.

Chilean success in Argentina. The pioneer of Chilean quality winemaking, Viña Montes, started its Kaiken winery in neighbouring Argentina based on Malbec. Today, they work on three estates within the Mendoza wine region, their vineyards lie in the best regions, their wines focus on terroir.
