The Max’s wines are a tribute to the winery's first chief winemaker, Max Schubert. The selected grapes from several South Australian, mainly clay, iron-rich areas are aged in American and French barrels to produce a really heavy wine with a warm palate. It has a deep red colour, polished tannins, blackberry and plum notes characteristic of the variety.
