90% Carmenère, Chile's flagship grape variety, plus 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from dry-farmed plots in the Apalta Valley, Marchigüe Valley and Colchagua Valley. Half of it was aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months. Ripe berries mix with cool mint, eucalyptus, roasted coffee and sweet spices on the intense nose. The palate is full and smooth with velvety tannins and long lasting, rich flavours.
The symbol of the global success of Chilean wine is Viña Montes. Situated within South America’s prestigious Cochagua Valley, the winery started from 30 hectares. Montes Alpha was the first premium Chilean wine, and is made only in the best vintages. With the Kaiken Winery, they are also at home in Argentina now.
