Alpha is the central piece of the Montes range. This Chilean Merlot from the Colchagua Valley is made precisely and with great care. The manual-harvest was followed by 5 days of gentle maceration. After the tank fermentation, half of the wine was aged in barrels for 12 months. Ripe strawberry, blackberry and plum notes prevail on the nose. The months it spent in oak add elegant, toasty, caramel and vanilla flavours with a little nutmeg and cinnamon, and the concentrated fruitiness beautifully balances the drier palate – it’s a truly great vintage.
