This family estate is situated at the southern end of the wine region, close to the Rhône. At the age of 22, Pierre-Marie took the cellar key from his father and at the first opportunity, started bottling the Gamay, which until then had been sold directly from the tank. He quickly became one of the up-and-coming winemakers of the wine region, and his bottles are still considered among the best buys. For him, minimal intervention and pure flavours are the main goals, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. For the latest wine, he harvested the grapes from vineyards with dark granite soil, from 25-45-year-old vines, which were fermented spontaneously for 5 days, in whole bunches, then, after a few weeks of ageing, it was bottled with a little sulphur. It has a classic style with natural flavours, a meaty palate and fresh fruits. It’s direct and thirst-quenching.
