The arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau every November is one of the wine world’s most exciting moments, celebrating the harvest's end with a wine that embodies freshness, lightness and energy. Les Griottes is simultaneously vibrant and surprisingly refined, expertly balancing freshness with rich aromatics. It reveals subtle minerality and a lingering finish. Flavours of cherry, blackberry, raspberry and a hint of wild blackcurrant mingle together, while its silky texture and soft tannins bring elegance.
The Chermette family estate, originally named Domaine du Vissoux, dates back to the 19th century. Over decades, their dedication and expertise have made them one of the most defining names of the region. Located in Saint-Vérand in southern Beaujolais, their vineyards benefit from diverse soils that are ideal for crafting exceptional wines. Pierre-Marie and his wife, Martine Chermette, strive for a pure and authentic expression of their terroir, employing sustainable viticulture practices and manual-harvesting to ensure only the finest grapes are used. Their winemaking emphasizes natural processes with low sulphur use, spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention.
In short, this is an exceptional vin primeur, showcasing not only vibrant fruit but also the expertise and craftsmanship of one of the region's finest producers.
