The history of Château Haut-Brion dates back remarkably far, all the way to 1521. In the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, only five of the 61 Grand Cru Classé châteaux were ranked at the highest level, and Haut-Brion was one of them. Prestige, tradition, history. A blend of 49% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 24 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new. A profusion of black berry fruit, with a dense palate, great mouthfeel and an endless finish. A monumental wine.
