“In this challenging vintage, first the frost caused some loss of crop, then during the harvest, it was rainfall that arrived at the wrong time which decimated the yield. The latter was also the cause of the lower than usual proportion of Cabernet Franc in the final blend. Apart from these difficulties, the most important part of flowering and ripening happened at a good pace thanks to the dry, warm spring. The blend of 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot is a real bouquet of fruit – blackberry, blueberry and redcurrant, plus violet and spice aromas, with a velvety texture and subtle tannins.
