The winery’s second wine was named after the vineyard that’s situated on the hilltop close to the château. Compared to the Grand Vin, the Merlot was given a larger role in it, but it is still dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, and only contains a small part of Cabernet Franc. It was aged for a year and a half in barrels, 10% of which were new. Cherry, sour cherry, subtle forest floor notes, ripe plum and vanilla. It has nice structure, the refreshing acids are in balance with the silky tannins, with a long aftertaste.
