An iconic wine from an iconic region. Although the vintage was not outstanding due to spring frost and September rains, careful harvesting resulted in exceptional quality. The wine's composition is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It spent 18-20 months ageing in new French oak barrels. It has a deep garnet-purple colour, with aromas and flavours of blackberries, currants, black cherry, fine spices, cedar and violets. Excellent balance, medium body and elegant tannins, finishing with a long aftertaste that hints at its great ageing potential.
