The 135-hectare estate is located in the Bordeaux wine region, in the northwestern part of Entre-Deux-Mers (between two seas). In reality, the area is bordered by two rivers, the Garonne and Dordogne. The wines of Château Pey La Tour are geological gems. Soil studies conducted on individual parcels determined the most suitable grape variety for each soil type. This is why the majority of the estate (124 hectares) is planted with Merlot, which produces complex yet fresh wines on the clay-limestone soil.
The château’s flagship first wine beautifully expresses the characteristics of Bordeaux. The colour is concentrated with violet hues. The rich nose exudes ripe forest fruits, as well as freshly picked blackberries and raspberries. From the very first sip, the wine is round and appealing, with rich fruitiness, a broad structure and subtle barrel spices. Full-bodied with serious ageing potential. A fine wine at an accessible price. Merlot (95%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2%), Petit Verdot (2%), Cabernet Franc (1%).
