Les Griffons de Pichon Baron, first made in 2012, is a modern ambassador of Bordeaux from Pauillac. The blend of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (46%) and Petit Verdot (4%) was aged for 18 months in first- and second-fill barrels. Ripe black berry fruit, violets, herbs, earthy notes and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with well-balanced acidity and tannins, with pleasant toasted oak barrel aromas and plenty of fruit on the finish. A characterful and precise wine with great ageing potential.
