The Griffons, first produced in 2012, is the ambassador of modern Bordeaux from Pauillac. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (59%) and Merlot (41%) was aged for 18 months in first- and second-fill barrels. Ripe black berry fruits, violets, herbs, earthy notes and tobacco. Medium-bodied, the acids and the tannins are in a beautiful balance, with lovely roasted barrel aromas and lots of fruit on the finish. It’s a distinctive and precise wine with great ageing potential.
