The only ’Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel’ in the Medoc, the Grand Vin was made from the grapes harvested from the clay-pebble soil vineyard that lies next to the village of Ordonnac. In the 2017 vintage, it was blended from 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It’s a sophisticated wine with a taut structure, great richness and freshness. It’s a pure and powerful wine with thick tannins, a spicy, deep finish, and exceptional ageing potential. It is often referred to as the “Pure Medoc style’.
