One of the most highly regarded estates of Burgundy and fine wine. They were among the first to start bottling their own wines in the region, and the eponymous Armand Rousseau acquired the best areas in the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis. Today they grow grapes on 15.3 hectares, out of which 8.5 hectares are grand cru.
The village wine was blended from the plots closest to the winery. The place of growth for Pinot Noir produces wines with intense, long flavours and great energy. From vines of 40-50 years of age, cultivated without chemicals, by traditional methods. After the harvest, most of the bunches are destemmed, with fermentation carried out spontaneously in open tanks. It was aged for 20 months in second-fill barrels. It’s an iconic village wine at the beginning of its career.
