One of the most highly regarded wineries in Burgundy and in the fine wine category. Among the first in the region to begin bottling their own wines, the eponymous Armand Rousseau acquired some of the finest vineyard sites in the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis. Today, the cellar cultivates 15.3 hectares, of which 8.5 hectares are classified as Grand Cru. A village-level wine blended from the vineyards closest to the estate. From a legendary Pinot Noir terroir, producing wines of intensity, length and great energy. The 40-50-year-old vines are cultivated without chemicals, using traditional methods. After the harvest, most of the bunches are destemmed, followed by spontaneous fermentation in open vats, and are then aged for 20 months in second-fill barrels. An iconic village-level wine at the beginning of its journey.
