One of the most highly regarded wineries in Burgundy and in the fine wine category. Among the first in the region to begin bottling their own wines, the founder, Armand Rousseau, acquired some of the best vineyard sites in the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis. Today, the winery cultivates 15.3 hectares, of which 8.5 hectares are Grand Cru.
Compared to Rousseau’s other Grand Cru (Clos de la Roche), this wine feels more powerful and generous. Deep flavours of orange peel, spices and juniper intertwine, creating a layered and endlessly concentrated wine. It also shows the raspberry aroma typical of the vintage. Still young.
