The most important vineyard of the estate is the “Ile des Vergelesses”, and out of its total of nine hectares, they cultivate three, and their best-known wine also comes from here. The 2018 vintage of the wine that is also famous for its slower ageing is already in good shape, with flavours of deeper, darker fruits, red berries, plums, orange peel, rose and liquorice on the nose. The medium-bodied palate is complex, deep and multi-layered, with a floral, spicy background.
The fruit was harvested from the south-facing, island-like vineyard, which is surrounded by the road, between August 21 and September 23. It was fermented in concrete and wooden vats for two to three weeks without destemming, with exclusively whole bunches and without added sulphur. After the vertical pressing, the fresh wine rested in used barrels in the cellar for 15-18 months. Unfiltered, unfined bottling.
