Compared to the size of the village (Savingy-les-Beaune), the limestone ‘Les Lavieres’ is a relatively large vineyard. The whole premier cru area of 17.66 hectares is shared by 14 producers. One of its largest parcels, which is is 2.6 hectares in total, is cultivated by Chandon de Briailles using biodynamic methods. The wines from here are always more full-bodied and less rustic compared to the surrounding vineyards – rather they have an elegant, floral, mineral character. The vines were planted in 1954. Minimalist approach, ageing in used barrels, bottling without filtering and fining, with low sulphur content.
