A regional-level Bourgogne rouge from the white wine estate. The classification can be misleading, as the La Taupe parcel selection comes directly from the border of Château de Pommard. The soil, typical of the village, is heavy clay and iron-rich. Romaric Chavy cultivates 2 hectares here with 70-year-old vines of the old local clone (Pinot Fin). At the winery, most of the grapes were destemmed, with only a few whole bunches added to the vats. The wine was aged for 10 months, 10% in new barrels. A pure and fresh Pinot style, with fruit and primary aromas, followed by minerality and restrained tannins on the palate. The subtly rustic, earthy character typical of Pommard is also strongly present here.
