For centuries, this tiny parcel has been a family-owned vineyard in the village where many of Burgundy’s greatest legends work side by side. Located halfway up the slope, the parcel takes its name from the small round stones (réas) scattered between the rows, and its wines can easily rival those from the village’s Premier Cru sites.
In 2021, the hand-selected grape bunches were completely destemmed, followed by a three-week maceration and skin fermentation with minimal intervention. For the 18-month barrel ageing, 50% new oak barrels were used. Even among Thibault’s typically full-bodied and firmly structured wines, this one stands out for its pronounced, mineral-driven character. Naturally pure flavours, subtly grippy tannins, notes of iodine and spice – an inimitable personality. Made from just 0.55 hectares of vines planted in 1954.
