One of the most dynamically-developing and iconic estates in the Loire Valley. Attitude comes from one single estate of 57 hectares, west of Sancerre, from Touraine, from two different places of growth: Chémery, with limestone soil, and Anger sur Cher, with sandy soil.
Regarding the balance of the place of growth and the variety, the style of the entry-level estate wine made from the 30-hectare, 5-parcel limestone and flint vineyard in Touraine leans towards the latter.
Among her first steps as chief winemaker, Valentina Buoso reduced the proportion of barrels used, thus placing an even greater emphasis on naturalness and highlighting the elegance of the variety. The nose of the spontaneously tank-fermented wine is full of green pepper, cut grass, asparagus and dill after opening. After some time, the nose mellows towards the palate, with rounder and sweeter-toned fruit aromas. A minerally energetic and excitingly pleasurable wine.
Pascal Jolivet, ambassador of Sauvignon Blanc and its homeland, the Loire Valley, has put everything into the variety via the two classic places of growth – the terroir of the milder and mineral Sancerre and the flinty and lean, ‘gunpowder’ Pouilly-Fumé. He has built on their success with Attitude, from Touraine.
