The 2024 vintage in the Loire Valley was far from smooth. Downy mildew swept through the vineyards over the summer, destroying a third of the Sancerre crop and half of the Pouilly-Fumé grapes. There wasn’t enough fruit left for the great wines – everything was concentrated on the estate wines. And yet, nature returned something of what it had taken.
From the carefully selected vineyards comes the new Attitude, which is tauter, deeper and more concentrated than previous vintages. It underwent spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then spent five months on fine lees to preserve its freshness and enhance its texture. The 2024 Attitude is pure and terroir-focused in style: the palate is framed by crisp minerality and subtle floral aromas, unfolding with juicy pear and citrus, and is lightly oily and creamy. Powdery, elegant, and rounded.

Pascal Jolivet, ambassador of Sauvignon Blanc and its homeland, the Loire Valley, has put everything into the variety via the two classic places of growth – the terroir of the milder and mineral Sancerre and the flinty and lean, ‘gunpowder’ Pouilly-Fumé. He has built on their success with Attitude, from Touraine.
