An iconic terroir and a fascinating blend. Thanks to the mistral wind, organic viticulture is naturally sustainable in the region, making high-quality fruit a given. The blend is based on the 13 grape varieties permitted in the appellation (Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise, Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne and Cinsault). Each variety is harvested separately by hand, then fermented partly in 500-liter or larger oak barrels and partly in concrete tanks. After malolactic fermentation and blending, the wine spends an additional year in barrel. Garnet-red color; aromas of black berries, with velvety tannins, cherry and ripe plum on the palate.
