A single vineyard-selected Riesling from the Gaisböhl’s monopole vineyard with its sandstone and pebbly soil. The larger part of it was spontaneously fermented in large old barrels with 25% fermented in steel tanks, and then it was aged for 10 months. Aromas of apricots, hay and wild flowers. Lively acidity on the juicy palate, with citrus, white-fleshed fruit, herbs and subtle saltiness on the finish. The outstanding Pfalz freshness of the 2020 vintage is perfectly balanced by the 2.6 grams of residual sugar.
One of Germany’s largest family wineries and biodynamically cultivated estates. They have 86 hectares and instead of growing further, they’re cutting down in order to improve the biodynamic growing. Beside the dry Rieslings, they are known for their sweet wines. They classify their vineyards based in a Burgundian way.
