Few grape varieties in the world are cultivated on only about 50 hectares, almost exclusively within the boundaries of a single wine region. Kéknyelű is a true rarity that faithfully reflects the uniqueness of the Badacsony wine region, with its basalt-rich soil structure and the benefits of its proximity to Lake Balaton. Laposa Kéknyelű is crafted from 25-40-year-old vines harvested from a four-hectare parcel. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with yeast, followed by ageing in large oak ‘ászok’ barrels and tanks for eight months.
The nose evokes white flowers, citrus and green apple. On the palate, it reveals subtle fruit flavours, vibrant acidity and a long, mineral finish.
