Balázs Sike’s selection of Sauvignon Blanc comes from 6-year-old vines grown on the north-western side of Badacsony, on brown basalt soil. The goal of the winery with this wine is to show, beside the aromatic properties typical of the Sauvignon Blanc variety, the unique, siliceous and smoky character of the place of growth, which results in a wine with complex and special flavours. The nose may seem discreet at first, but it opens up nicely over time, while the palate is dominated by gooseberry and elderberry, in addition to the rich minerality.
