The winner of the dry, hot and stressful 2022 vintage was the Olaszrizling variety, where no compromises had to be made despite the challenging vintage. A solid wine within the selection, and the lower alcohol content and concentrated substance even proved to be beneficial. The grapes from the basalt soil of the Bács-hajagos vineyard were fermented in tanks, and then 30% of it was aged for half a year in three-year-old 500-liter barrels. The aim of the short and predominantly reductive ageing is to preserve the place of growth and the easily recognizable varietal characteristics of Olaszrizling. The result is a creamy, round, juicy, mineral wine with grapefruit.
