Endre Szászi’s classic surprised us on the first tasting. Instead of the golden colour, sweetly fruity, floral notes and oxidative character typical of the winery, a really taut precise and light wine that recalls Riesling from the Rhine was made from 2020. Organic growing, volcanic soil, whole-bunch pressing, spontaneous fermentation, then a brief, 3-month long ageing in used large barrels.
