The cooler stoniness of Csobánc, with a layered and balanced palate, subtle oak flavours that complement the wine, and a well-proportioned blend of the grape varieties. A selection from the winery’s finest barrels. Chardonnay hand-harvested from brown forest soil dotted with sandbars, from the first 2009 planting, blended in excellent proportion with Riesling, Olaszrizling and Furmint. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged for 9 months in 300-litre Burgundy barrels from François Frères and Austrian Stockinger barrels.
On the nose, it exudes white flowers, peach and pear, which is followed by a pleasantly salty-mineral palate. Its name refers to the remnants of the Pannonian Sea, which were found 12 metres deep, beneath the volcanic rock layer during the construction of the new cellar.
